Several events and performances took place from 6 to 11 September, a shorter calendar than last year. After 3 years of absence, Tommy Hilfiger is back on the New York runways with “Tommy for Zendaya”, a collection that talks about diversity and inclusion and was created together with the actress/singer . Also, the first Marchesa collection designed entirely by Georgina Chapman was presented.
A mix of cultures, craftsmanship and diversified beauty are just some of the themes on the runway, together with athleisure, the casual style, the 80s, the multicolour fantasies, and the romantic garden trend for daywear. The offer for evening gowns is also very rich:
Aquamarine:
Jason Wu Collection
Feathers and fringed dresses:
Dennis Basso
Black & white and garçonne fashion:
Ralph Lauren / Tommy Hilfiger
And the classic all-white versions, also suitable for the big day! From the classic ball gown to the maxi ruche, from the essential style to the boho beach style, from “see me through” to short, rock&roll and bon ton dresses.
Alice + Olivia / Helmut Lang
Oscar de la Renta / LaQuan Smith
And last but not least, two new trends: bi-colour garments (the combination of white and yellow, one of the most popular shades for the next summer season) and jeans in an elegant version, with a top and a train in pure white satin for those who want to break the mould.
Fashion on the New York runways is a tribute to the femininity and strength of women, so beautiful in their diversity.
Christian Siriano / Badgley Mischka / Brandon Maxwell
