Sleeves take centre stage

An extreme trend in the 2020 collections, sleeves have become elements of style, a starting point for developing the silhouette, and a detail that gives personality to the outfit.

There are voluminous shoulders and gigot sleeves, balloon-shaped and exaggerated volumes with clear references to the 80s, designed by Sophie Et Voilà and Inmaculada García.

Surprising constructions, and delicate structures of explosive drapery and fabrics will be appearing on the catwalks presented by Sedomir Rodriguez, Isabel Zapardiez, Yolancris, Pronovias and Carlo Pignatelli.

The 90s make their appearance with unexpected and eccentric manufacturing (Carla Ruiz), origami sleeves (Isabel Sanchis) or bulky on the shoulders and tight at the wrists, in the typical ‘leg-of-mutton’ shape (Pronovias and Yolancris).

All styles are present: ‘bishop’ sleeves (Rosa Clará), ‘camicia’ (Aire Barcelona), peasant (The Atelier), and ‘Juliet’ sleeves, in honour of the famous Shakespearean heroine (Julia Kontogruni).
