The new 2020 collections are not the only protagonists here, but also everything around fashion events: make-up and trendy hairstyles, music, lights, video, and special effects. Cristina Tamborero and Ramón Sanjurjo are well aware of this, and they open their fashion shows with backstage videos to reveal the frenzy and work behind the scenes. Simone Marulli starts his show with beautiful black and white images of his atelier, of the handwork done there, and sketches of his designs!

Every fashion show has a very specific identity, the quintessence of the brand or the inspiration of the collection: For Aire Barcelona, it is nature, with flowers as wristbands or hairpieces, and the projection of images of clouds and skies with chirping sounds in the background. Or imaginary paradises brought to the runway by Carla Ruiz, with her models in feathered dresses like delicate birds, while a new composition of Vivaldi’s Spring plays in the room!

Esther Noriega prefers fairytale music instead, with songs like Enchanted or Magical Forest to make us relive the most beautiful stories, while models, with a crown on their heads, walk the runway like modern princesses. Marchesa‘s creations are also magical, jazzing up the VBBFW evening gala at the gardens of Pedralbes Palace on its European debut. The Pronovias scenery is breathtaking: ‘Beyond the stars’, a sea of lights, which look like stars!

Sophie et Voilà, inspired by the culture of their own homeland, shows the new collection through references to the Basque pelota game with dynamic images on the screen. Against the backdrop of Blondie and Nina Simone, Yolancris presents an exciting video with images of famous men and women who stayed true to their essence and their choices: a hymn to courage and freedom!

In the age of instant messaging and social media, fashion shows remain the event par excellence, the fulcrum and catalyst of trends in VBBFW..
