Ruffles are back on the dresses of the Bridal and Haute Couture runways, a symbol of romance and relaxed elegance. Designer Giambattista Valli knows a thing or two about mini ruffles, the label’s signature. Theatrical creations by Inmaculada GarcIa and Julia Kontogruni presented at the VBBFW.

Fabrics are decorated with sinuous waves, enriched with delicate pleats and giving a little bit of irony to the embroidery (Ralph & Russo) and the accessories, such as the exuberant Pronovias shawl.

Grace and lightness are the strong points of this creation, with fabrics that seem to evaporate as they accompany the movements of the body. The dresses by Marchesa and Francesco Scognamiglio are ethereal, while Demetrios chooses large volumes but always in the name of lightness.
